Ohio Arts Council Awards H.C.H.T.A. 2008 Sustaining Grant for Arts Programming
The Hippodrome/Colony Historical Theatre Association (HCHTA) is pleased to announce that the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) has awarded the organization a 2008 grant in the amount of $11,027.
The OAC Sustainability Program provides funds to organizations for annual arts programming or for a recurring single project or activity. The HCHTA has been receiving this matching grant funding from the OAC since 2005.
Arts activities funded from the 2007 OAC grant monies include ColonyFest Street Festival, Ohio Valley Opry, River Cities Symphony Orchestra Colony Pops concert, Singer/Songwriter Contest and Songwriter Invitational and the River City Film Festival.
The HCHTA is the largest start-up nonprofit organization in recent Marietta history. So far, $1.9 million has been raised to help restore the Colony Theatre. The HCHTA is optimistic that construction will begin late this year.
